Miami's Forgotten Gem: Restoring the Marine Stadium, or Losing a Piece of History? The Miami Marine Stadium, built in 1963 as a Brutalist masterpiece, has been idle for over three decades.

The stadium, which once hosted Elvis Presley's film Clambake and Jimmy Buffett's concerts, suffered significant damage from Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Designed by young Cuban refugee architect Hilario Candela, the stadium's sweeping cantilevered roof and views of the city skyline make it an architectural gem that embodies Miami's mid century modernism.
